Final Cut is a weekly film review and soundtrack show hosted by Carly Matthews-Lynch and Diane McSweeney. It airs every Monday at 7pm on DCUfm.com
Every Monday the girls talk you through the biggest releases of the week whilst playing some tracks from famous soundtracks, and bringing you up to date on the latest movie news both at home and abroad.
Our listener-generated section ‘The Rant’ is a bi-weekly segment in which Diane and Carly discuss whatever’s grabbing the listener’s attention with regards to film – If you’d like to get involved, simply text us on 085 7515 973 or tweet us @finalcutradio, during the live show.
Plus we’ve added some new little tidbits to the show for this season. For instance we’ll be conducting interviews with some of Ireland’s main players in the movie industry. You can download our first interview with Stephen Bryne aka 3sixty5days, here.
Comedy Classics (previously Cult Classics) is a weekly 10 minute segment on Final Cut brought to you by the incomprehensible mumblings of Ciarán Flanagan, and the audible chocolate that is Lord James Buckley. This season the lads are discussing hilarious classic films, from the likes of Airplane and The Blues Brothers, to Anchorman and Zoolander, and finishing every week, as always, on a song.
You can download last semester’s Cult Classics by clicking here.
We’ll also have info regarding film based events around Dublin and of course the rest of Ireland, and there’ll be plenty of prizes and giveaways to keep you guys interested.
You can also download or stream yor favourite episodes of Final Cut by clicking here, or visiting our Podcasts page.

Presenters/Producers
Carly Matthews-Lynch is a 20 year old 2nd year Communications Studies student at DCU currently residing in Dublin.
Originally brought on to produce, Carly eventually weedled her way into the presenter’s chair. Due to a rather debilitating teenage social life, she knows movies… well. And the stuff she comes out with on-air is generally how she speaks in everyday conversation. It can get quite annoying.
Her favourite director is Wes Anderson, her favourite song from a movie is either Let Go by Frou Frou from Garden State or Needle in the Hay by Elliott Smith from The Royal Tenenbaums, and her favourite film of all time is simply too difficult a question to answer.
She lives on the internet, and if you’d like to contact her you can:
Check out her blog – http://downeybookgirl.wordpress.com
Go to her twitter – @DowneyBookGirl
Or visit her Facespace page – Carly M Lynch
Diane McSweeney is 19 years old and she is also a 2nd year Communications Studies student at DCU.
Diane came up with the idea for Final Cut whilst walking home in the rain full of pizza and ambition. After months of searching she stumbled upon Carly as potential co-host material, and fondly recalls this memory as similar to finding out that she wasn’t pregnant.
Her favourite movie is the United States of Leland and her favourite song from a movie is yet to be decided.
Diane is not from the internet, so if you’d like to get in touch, you can simply email her at dianethepacemaker@hotmail.com or finalcutradio@gmail.com.
