Semester Two – ’09/’10
Final Cut Episode 10 – 22/02/10 – (link to be added) The Final Cut girls have finally returned! Diane headed to Irish Premiere of The Lovely Bones, so we’ll be hearing her thoughts on that, plus Carly will be talking us through what it was like to watch Michael Cera try and lose his virginity for what seems like the 100th time in Youth in Revolt. Ciarán and James are back with the re-imagined ‘Comedy Classics’ and they’ll be discussing the hilarious Leslie Neilson romp, Airplane. Plus, we got an exclusive interview with Ireland’s biggest YouTuber and official sexiest male, Stephen Bryne aka 3sixty5days.
Semester One – ‘09/’10
Final Cut Episode 09 – 02/12/09 – In the last episode of semester one, Carly and Diane talk about Michael Caine’s Harry Brown, alongside the Blair Witch inspired thriller, Paranormal Activity. The guys from Cult Classics give us their view on Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange, and The Rant looks at Seth Rogen, Judd Apatow and the new ‘Frat Pack’. Featuring music from Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Crystal Fighters, Blur and MIA.
Final Cut Episode 08 – 25/11/09 – In this episode the girls discuss the big release of the month, ‘New Moon’, while Ciarán and James break the first two rules of Fight Club. The Rant this week looks at Cinema Blend’s list of the top 10 soundtrack moments of the noughties. Featuring music from Frou Frou, Paramore, Lykke Li, Ok Go, The Pixies and Elton John.
Final Cut Episode 07 – 18/11/09 – In episode 7 of semester one, Carly and Diane express their disappoint over Jennifer’s Body and their confusion over The Men Who Stare at Goats. Cult Classics focuses on the MTV movie Beavis and Butthead Do America, whilst in The Rant the girls talk about the new neo-indie niche; are indie movies really indie anymore? Featuring music from Florence and the Machine, Boston, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and The Mouldy Peaches.
Final Cut Episode 06 – 04/11/09 – This week the girls review 9 and An Education, whilst Ciarán and James do the Time Warp with The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Also in The Rant, Carly and Diane discuss the movies of Nick Hornby. Featuring music from Coheed and Cambria, Duffy, and Badly Drawn Boy.

Final Cut Episode 04 – 22/10/09 – In this episode Carly and Diane discuss the big releases of the week, The Imaginarium of Dr Parassus and Couples Retreat, while the guys at ‘Cult Classics’ talk us through Donnie Darko. Featuring music from The Editors, Death Cab for Cutie, Joy Division, The Barenaked Ladies and David Bowie.
Final Cut Episode 03 – 15/10/09 – This week the ladies at Final Cut reviewed new indie film, All My Days along with Pixar’s Up. A new segment to the show was introduced in the form of ‘Cult Classics’ with Ciarán and James; this week they were discussing ‘Withnail and I’. And the listener generated segment, ‘The Rant’ looked at the life and career of John Hughes. Featuring music from Alexi Murdoch, Blue Oyster Cult, Jimi Hendrix, Fall Out Boy and Simple Minds.
Final Cut Episode 02 – 08/10/09 – Part two of 2009’s summer movie special. This week Carly and Diane discuss Star Trek, Moon, Inglorious Bastards, and blockbusters from summer’s past. Featuring music from The Beastie Boys, William Shatner, David Bowie, Yello and Buffalo Springfield.
Final Cut Episode 01 – 01/10/09 – Part one of our Summer Movie Special. In this episode the girls review Harry Potter, Watchmen, Transformers and (500) Days of Summer.
